An electric vehicle is a type of vehicle that is driven by electricity. Also known as an electric drive vehicle, there are common types such as alternating current electric vehicles and direct current electric vehicles. The electric vehicle mentioned usually refers to a vehicle that uses batteries as its energy source. Through components such as the vehicle's controller and motor, it converts electrical energy into mechanical energy for movement, and changes the speed by controlling the current size.
Electric vehicles can be classified into two types: motor vehicles and non-motor vehicles. The ones with high speed are called electric motorcycles or electric mopeds and belong to the category of motor vehicles. Those with a speed of less than 25 kilometers per hour and equipped with pedals are called national standard electric bicycles and belong to non-motor vehicles. They can also be divided into electric two-wheelers, electric tricycles, and electric quadricycles (referring to low-speed electric quadricycles - old man's bikes, excluding electric cars).
